About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Writers on the Bus / Scríobhnóiri ar an mBus – 10:30 to 12.30, Sunday,

November 17th

Hop on the bus, take a trip around Slea Head, and listen to new work from emerging Kerry writers inspired by their journeys on the Local Link.

In early 2024 Kerry Co Council writer-in-residence Emer Fallon issued an open invitation to Kerry writers to hop on the bus, celebrate the expanding Local Link service and create some new work.

Following a series of engagement sessions, writers from Sneem, Tralee, Dingle, and Cahersiveen boarded the bus in August, actively observing and listening, before putting their thoughts and experiences on paper.

During this trip passengers will hear from some of those writers whose work has been selected for display on Kerry’s Local Link buses.

Event details: The bus leaves Dingle at 10:30 from the bus-stop opposite the back of Garvey’s supermarket and travels around Slea Head, with a half-hour stop in Krugers for tea and coffee, before arriving back in Dingle by 12:30.

This event is being staged in association with Kerry County Council Arts Office and Local Link
