Women in Music

Join us in Clonmel Library on International Women's Day for a series of lively presentations and discussions on women in music.

Carrick-on-Suir native, Dr. Emma O'Keeffe will deliver an engaging talk exploring the life and work of Ina Boyle, one of Ireland’s most significant yet underappreciated composers.

Mareike Hilbrig and Kim Siekmann from Frankfurt’s Archiv Frau und Musik (which welcomed Finding A Voice in November as part of Zeitgeist Irland 24) will talk about their work in promoting and archiving women’s music.

Dr. Laura Hamer of Women’s Musical Leadership Online Network will present on her research and work addressing the ways in which musical leadership remains one of the most male-dominated musical areas.

Following the presentations, Artistic Director Róisín Maher will chair a panel discussion on women in music today
