Qi (pronounced as Cheee)

throughout the mind and body boosting overall wellness and balancing Yin & Yang energy.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theoryhas its foundations in the interplay of FIVE ELEMENTS that play out in Nature:

Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water.

The element of WATER is connected to the season of Winter. The End of the Cycle.

The darkest and most YIN time of the year. But Water, essential to life, is also the Seed, the Beginning of the Cycle.

The WATER energy pathways (meridians) are connected to our Kidney and Bladder organ systems. The Emotion of the Water element is Fear.

When Water navigates its way to balance and stillness it transforms into Wisdom. This AcuYoga experience, the fifth in our series, is jointly hosted by Lucia O’Byrne and Susan Ní D includes

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga has its roots in the ancient Chinese philosophy of Daoism. At the heart of Daoism is the belief in the need for balance between the twin forces of Yin and Yang that we see everywhere: Darkness and Light; Cold and Hot; Inaction and Action. Yin and Yang complement one another to achieve a state of harmony. Yin Yoga is yoga for the joints with long held poses which targets deep tension and flips the nervous system into rest and digest mode.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force by inserting tiny needles into specific points along the body. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain and disorders but increasingly, it is being used as regular practice for boosting overall wellness and stress management.
