About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

In 2023, Alcohol Action Ireland (AAI) has launched a new initiative, Voices of Recovery, to harness the lived experience of people in recovery from alcohol to drive policy change.

The initiative, led by people in recovery from alcohol, aims to remove the stigma around getting treatment for alcohol problems and to drive evidence-based policy change on issues such as better alcohol treatment services, curbs on alcohol marketing and holding the alcohol industry to account for the harm its product causes.

This special event, in Recovery Month, marks our first anniversary. Join us in the Aula Maxima in University College Cork to celebrate.

Tickets are free but must be booked on Eventbrite.

Organized by

Alcohol Action Ireland (AAI) is the national independent advocate working to reduce harm from alcohol.

We campaign for the burden of alcohol harm to be lifted from the individual, community and State, and have a strong track record in effective advocacy, campaigning and policy research.

Our work involves providing information on alcohol-related issues, creating awareness of alcohol-related harm and offering public policy solutions with the potential to reduce that harm, with an emphasis on the implementation of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act.
