Where is the event taking place?

The event will be held in the incredible Mitchelstown Caves, Co. Tipperary. We will be seated deep underground in the cavern, surrounded by candlelight to celebrate the stirrings of Spring as part of the Celtic tradition of Imbolc - meaning 'In the Belly of the Mother'.

What does Imbolc mean?

Imbolc means 'In the belly of the Mother' and is a traditional Celtic festival marking the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Imbolc is associated with the goddess Brigid, representing fertility, healing, hope and renewal.

What is the date and time of the event?

The event will take place on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at 7:00 PM. We recommend arriving early to allow for seating. We hope to travel into the cave be fully seated by 8pm. We hope to exit the cave by 9.30pm

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are €88 each, plus a booking fee. Tickets can be purchased directly on Eventbrite.

What is included in the ticket price?

The ticket includes a fully seated experience in the cave, guided meditation, vocal alchemy, and herbal tea served in the grounds after the event.

Is seating available?

Yes, this is a fully seated-only event. All guests will have a seat provided within the cave. The cavern holds up to 100 seats. We have 90 seats for sale for this event.

Will food or drinks be provided?

Herbal tea will be served after the event in the beautiful grounds surrounding the cave. There will not be any other food or drinks provided, so feel free to bring your own if needed for after the event or the journey home but please note that no food is allowed inside the cave. Bring a keep cup.

How should I prepare for the event?

Wear warm, comfortable clothing suitable for being inside a cave. The temperature inside the cave is a cool 12 degrees and the floor is wet, so dress in layers, wear a long puffy jacket/dryrobe type coat, wooly hat, gloves and wooly socks with water proof boots.

Are there any restrictions or guidelines?

Please note that the caves may have uneven terrain. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes. There are 88 steep steps down into the cave so you must be able to navigate those steps on your own. Also, due to the nature of the event, it is not suitable for young children. This event is over 18's.

Is parking available at the event?

Yes, parking is available on-site at Mitchelstown Caves. There is ample parking space for attendees and it is free. While the parking area is rural and remote, we recommend not leaving any valuables in your vehicle as we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage.

How do I get to Mitchelstown Caves?

Mitchelstown Caves are located near Mitchelstown, County Cork. The caves are easily accessible by car, and you can use the following address for GPS or mapping services: Mitchelstown Caves, Burncourt, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

Unfortunately, there are no direct public transportation options to Mitchelstown Caves. The best way to reach the location is by car. If you're traveling without a vehicle, we recommend arranging for a taxi or carpooling with other attendees.

From Cork City: Approximately 1 hour (70 km). From Limerick City: Approximately 1 hour (60 km). From Dublin: Approximately 2.5 hours (190 km).

We recommend arriving at least 30-45 minutes before the event begins to allow time for parking and finding your seat. The roads leading to the caves may be narrow, so drive cautiously, especially in winter conditions.

Yes, there are several accommodation options in Mitchelstown and the surrounding area, ranging from hotels to bed and breakfasts. We recommend booking in advance, as accommodations may fill up quickly.

Is the cave safe?
