About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

In this presentation, we welcome Dr Suzanne Stewart (University of Chester, UK) to introduce what the TOP guidelines are, why and how they have been updated, and how you can use the TOP guidelines in your own research.

The TOP guidelines set out standards for open research practices that can be applied at varying levels of stringency. Based on feedback from the research community the guidelines have been revised and updated. There is a preprint on this - 2025: An Update to the Transparency and Openness Promotion Guidelines https://osf.io/preprints/metaarxiv/nmfs6_v2

Dr Emma Norris will then present the results of a study evaluating the adoption of TOP standards within health psychology and behavioural medicine journal policies. This study was completed within an EHPS Open Science SIG Hackathon event at EHPS 2024.
