About this event

Renowned Irish-American Supergroup THE OLLLAM reconvenes for 2025.

the olllam, the critically acclaimed, genre-defying Irish-American fusion group, has announced an exciting 12-date UK and Ireland tour for early 2025. Known for their trailblazing blend of traditional Irish instruments with lonmg, cyclical melodies, fusing jazz, and psych-post-rock, the olllam continues to push musical boundaries.

This tour again features Scotland’s whistle ace Ross Ainslie up front with Irish piper John McSherry, while bass supremo Joe Dart (Vulfpeck, Fearless Flyers), Detroit drummer Michael Shimmin and keyboard player Joe Hettinga all return, joining Limerick guitarist Seán O’Meara. The 2025 tour follows sell out shows at Barrowlands during Celtic Connections and at London’s Jazz Cafe in 2024. It comes on the heels of the band’s recent collaboration with Grammy-winning electronic artist Zedd on his latest album Telos, adding to the group’s ever-expanding sonic palette.

Fans can expect electrifying performances, featuring new material as well as classics from their discography.

2024 marked an exciting change for the olllam as they welcomed renowned Scottish musician Ross Ainslie (Whistles, bagpipes) to the lineup, replacing founding member Tyler Duncan for live shows. Ainslie, known for his work with Treacherous Orchestra and Salsa Celtica, brings his distinct whistle-playing to the band, enhancing the already intricate interplay of long, cyclical melodies for which the olllam is famous.

the olllam are:

John McSherry (Uilleann pipes, whistles)

Ross Ainslie (Whistles)

Michael Shimmin (Drums)

Joe Dart (Bass)

Joe Hettinga (Keys)

Seán O’Meara (Guitar)

Frequently asked questions

What time will the show start / end ?

While each show can vary slightly, generally shows start 30-45mins after doors. Show will end approx 10.15pm

Are there any age restrictions for shows?

All shows are strictly ages 18+ unless stated otherwise. 2 forms of ID may be required (national age card, driver licence, passport - student ID as a 2nd form only). Fraudulent ID or ID not matching the person presenting it will be confiscated, treated as stolen property and issued to the Gardaí.

I know it's over 18's, but can a child attend if accompanied by an adult?

No, I'm afraid an over 18s show is strictly over 18s.

Is the venue seated or standing?

Unless otherwise stated, all live music shows are standing. There are a small number of tables along the side which are limited & go on a first come first serve basis so we recommend coming early for the best chance of getting a seat. They cannot be booked in advance. Comedy shows are seated events.

What about accessibility?

We have a wheelchair accessible lift at ground floor to venue level. At venue level there is also a wheelchair accesible toilet.

Is there parking available?

We are in a pedestrianised zone. The nearest multi-story parking is: Merchants Quay, Grand Parade, Carrolls Quay, Union Quay. There is also limited onstreet parking available on South Mall.

The website says X is sold out. Is that really true?

Yes. We do not reserve tickets for sale on the door, so if we've marked it as sold out on the website then it is definitely sold out. Do not purchase tickets from 3rd party sellers as these are often scams.

Is it ok to take photos/recordings during the show?

Generally, photos without flash are fine. Video is generally not allowed.

Do you post out physical tickets ?

No – after booking tickets online you'll be sent a confirmation email with a pdf attachment which contains your tickets (or on your Eventbrite app). You will need this in order for us to scan your ticket to gain entry to the show. The QR code on each ticket is unique and will only scan once.
