Steel Magnolias by playwright Robert Harling

Athlone Little Theatre is delighted to announce its first production for 2025 is 'Steel Magnolias' written in 1987 by playwright Robert Harling. Two years later, it was released as a movie with a stellar cast, several of whom were nominated for academy awards.

The play is situated in Truvy's Hair and Beauty salon in a small town in the US state of Louisiana. The six strong female characters show how the bonds created through friendship usually end up being what gets you through the more challenging life events we all encounter. Director Ollie Hegarty and co-director Caroline Coyle promise a fantastic night's entertainment that will live long in the memory.
