The Department of Health has commenced work on drafting a new national drugs strategy. The new strategy will be informed by an evaluation of the current strategy, the recommendations of the Citizens Assembly and the Joint Committee on Drugs Use, the submissions made to the Citizens Assembly on Drugs Use and the new Programme for Government.

To support the drafting process, the Department is convening a number of targeted in-person consultations. The consultations will be facilitated and reported upon by independent consultants, Dr Gráinne Healy and Dr Kathy Walsh.

A consultation on the involvement of individuals and families with lived and living experience of drug addiction in the design and delivery of drugs policy will take place as part of this process.

This event is invite only and we would ask that you do not register unless directly contacted by the Department of Health.
