Frequently asked questions
St. Kevin’s Way is a moderate grade, way marked linear trail. In this guided walk we are walking from GRANAMORE, Co Wicklow on the L8350, before heading off-road onto tracks, forest paths and boardwalk, over the WICKLOW GAP and down to GLENDALOUGH. This is approximately 19 km in length.
After registration at the free carpark, this walk takes us on a mixture of forest track, narrow paths, and boardwalk, ascending over the Wicklow Gap, before descending on the Miner’s trail to Glendalough. A bus will then collect walkers to return to start.
St. Kevin’s Way is one of the five designated pilgrim paths in Ireland and is included in the Irish Pilgrim Path Passport. www.pilgrimpath.ie On completion of the routes the walkers can get their passports stamped with a labyrinth symbol.
St Kevin’s Way is approx. 19 km. It takes approx. 6 hours.
Bring a hat and sunscreen, an extra top, rain gear, waterproof boots. Pack a lunch and water – we have more water available at our breaks. There will be refreshments available at the lunchbreak. Bring a HIGH VIS vest – a portion of the walk is on a road. Please walk in single file on the road.
Registration takes place at 9.00am in Granamore, just past Winfield House Eircode W91 K635, where we have a field to park in.
Toilets available in Glendalough Visitor’s Centre. There is one toilet available where we park.
The walk is timed to finish in Glendalough at approximately 3.30pm. A bus will then bring walkers back to the start (getting back at approx 4pm). Walkers unable to achieve this very modest pace must exit the walk, accept a lift back to the start, or proceed at their own risk.
Walking St Kevin’s Way can be physically demanding, and you should only attempt it if you have regular experience of walking longer distances. Much of the route is unmade paths and tracks.
Please do not register or attempt the walk if you are carrying an injury, have an underlying medical condition, or have no experience of walking longer distances.
The St Kevin’s Way route traverses a variety of terrain including roads, gravel paths, boggy ground, timber boardwalks, forest tracks, grassy trails, and uneven surfaces. Please wear suitable waterproof footwear.

YES! We have pilgrim passports, available at start the walk – additional cost: €5 each. Passports will be stamped at end.

St Kevin’s Way pilgrim walk 12th October 2024 is led by our Walk Leaders.
We will be stopping for breaks. One lunch break and one tea break. Please bring a packed lunch and water. Refreshments provided at our tea break.
There is a seven-day cancellation policy. A full refund can be issued if you cancel seven days before the event. Otherwise, we cannot refund you. If the event is cancelled by the organisers for any reason, full refunds will be issued.
