About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

The Health and Safety Authority invites you to attend this seminar on the EU Healthy Workplaces Campaign which aims to raise awareness around the occupational safety and health (OSH) challenges, risks and opportunities related to the digital age.

Wednesday 23rd October, Absolute Hotel Limerick @ 09:30

Why attend?

Digital technologies provide essential services and solutions for all sectors of the economy and society. Digital technologies are not only changing how we work, but also where and when we work.

Robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) support and replace personnel operating in hazardous environments. Big data enables more effective monitoring systems. Despite its benefits, the impact of digitalisation on occupational safety and health (OSH) is still emerging and relatively uncharted. If a human-centred approach is taken when designing, implementing, managing and using digital technologies, it can help to ensure worker safety and business productivity.

Attendees will hear from experts in the area of human factors and the psychosocial aspects of this new and emerging work environment. Attendees will also hear from industry representatives and speakers on the topics of AI and Robotics

Who should attend?

  • Employers and duty-holders
  • Operations managers
  • Production managers
  • Worker representatives
  • Safety representatives
  • OSH researchers and consultants

Further details on the Agenda will be released in the coming weeks and will be available on our website www.hsa.ie and on HSA social media channels.

Organized by

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) was established in 1989 under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989 and reports to the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation.

Our core aims are to ensure that workers in Ireland, and anyone affected by work activity, return home safely to their families and that everyone is protected from the harmful effects of chemicals. We strive to make workplace safety, health and welfare an integral part of doing business in every workplace in modern Ireland.

Prevention and the principles of prevention are the cornerstone of our strategy and this is given effect across all our activities, from inspections through to policy formation, technical services, information and guidance. We are the lead National Competent Authority for a number of chemicals regulations including the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) Regulation and Seveso II Directive.

Our responsibility in this area is to protect human health (general public, consumers and workers) and the environment, to enhance competitiveness and innovation and ensure free movement of chemicals in the EU market.
