IFA Countryside - Safe Handling of Wild Game Meat

Join us for the first in the 2025 Series of Safe Handling of Wild Game Meat Courses on Saturday, 22nd March 2025, at Bloomfield House Hotel, Belvedere, Mullingar. This in-person event will provide valuable insights into the safe handling of wild game meat. Starting at 08:30 AM , the event aims to educate and inform participants about the proper techniques and precautions involved in handling wild game meat. Refreshments and Lunch provided.

This course faciliated by the NARGC is Lantra Certified and affords students the opportunity to prepare game meat, from point of harvest to the kitchen, to a standard set down by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland compliant with Irish and EU Law. This allows you to put Game meat into the Food Chain.

The course will consist of a Presentation on the various different modules of the safe handling of wild game meat. Followed by a MCQ Exam. To be successful in the exam the candidate must have an 80% plus pass rate. This course when successfully completed will afford the candidate a certificate and card which will meet with the criteria as required by the EU Regulation (EC)853(2004).

You will need to study the Manual, and be familiar with it in advance of the Course. The Manual (A4 size booklet) will be posted out to you shortly after you have booked the course.

Students who successfully complete this course will receive their Lantra Certificate and skills card in the post 4-6 weeks after completing the course.This course is facilitated by the NARGC; a LANTRA accredited body.
