About this event

"Rebel Rebel" are Irelands premier David Bowie tribute, a 6 piece band, faithfully recreating Bowie’s extensive catalogue covering over 5 Decades. Both as professional musicians and huge fans of Bowies artistry, the respect for the man and his music is both evident and a cornerstone of their live performances.

Rebel Rebel’s 2 hour plus setlist is built upon Bowie's most loved and enduring songs interspersed with those specially requested by his dedicated legion of followers and fans making each performance unique and special.

Lead singer Peter Quinn has always had his voice compared to Bowie’s. “I released an album of original material in 1999 and it was instantly compared to Bowie. It was something I had been told from the time I cut my first demo tape, so when I was looking for a new project a Bowie tribute was the obvious direction.”

All highly experienced and seasoned musicians, the band faithfully recreate David’s diverse and complex repertoire, often handpicked from particular live performances crossing the many decades and genres that reflect his genius and creativity.

Assembled from some of the finest touring and session musicians in the country, having previously played with an array of Europes top artists including; Sinead O’Connor, Clannad, Gavin Friday, Dolores O’Riordan, Jack L, Brian Kennedy, Lesley Garrett, The Irish Tenors, The RTE Concert Orchestra, Eric Bell & Brian Downey(Thin Lizzy).

From closing the first ever Bowie Symposium in Limerick University to headlining the Dublin Bowie Festival since its inception in 2015, including numerous sellout shows at Dublin’s Vicar St.,The Academy and the Cork Opera House, Rebel Rebel’s reputation for delivering electrifying performances continues to grow alongside their many fans.

Receiving rave reviews for their shows and lead singer Peter Quinn’s natural likeness to the voice of David Bowie, Rebel Rebel have frequently been hailed as not just the best Bowie tribute, but one of the the best bands in the country to experience live.

“Sounds uncannily like David Bowie on good form."

Tony Clayton Lea, the Irish Times.

Bowie guitarist & musical director Gerry Leonard stated after his appearance with the band at Dublin Bowie Festival 2016 that it was 'the closest thing to playing with Bowie Ive experienced'.

Frequently asked questions

What time will the show start / end ?

While each show can vary slightly, generally shows start 30-45mins after doors. Show will end approx 10.15pm

Are there any age restrictions for shows?

All shows are strictly ages 18+ unless stated otherwise. 2 forms of ID may be required (national age card, driver licence, passport - student ID as a 2nd form only). Fraudulent ID or ID not matching the person presenting it will be confiscated, treated as stolen property and issued to the Gardaí.

I know it's over 18's, but can a child attend if accompanied by an adult?

No, I'm afraid an over 18s show is strictly over 18s.

Is the venue seated or standing?

Unless otherwise stated, all live music shows are standing. There are a small number of tables along the side which are limited & go on a first come first serve basis so we recommend coming early for the best chance of getting a seat. They cannot be booked in advance. Comedy shows are seated events.

What about accessibility?

We have a wheelchair accessible lift at ground floor to venue level. At venue level there is also a wheelchair accesible toilet.

Is there parking available?

We are in a pedestrianised zone. The nearest multi-story parking is: Merchants Quay, Grand Parade, Carrolls Quay, Union Quay. There is also limited onstreet parking available on South Mall.

The website says X is sold out. Is that really true?

Yes. We do not reserve tickets for sale on the door, so if we've marked it as sold out on the website then it is definitely sold out. Do not purchase tickets from 3rd party sellers as these are often scams.

Is it ok to take photos/recordings during the show?

Generally, photos without flash are fine. Video is generally not allowed.

Do you post out physical tickets ?

No – after booking tickets online you'll be sent a confirmation email with a pdf attachment which contains your tickets (or on your Eventbrite app). You will need this in order for us to scan your ticket to gain entry to the show. The QR code on each ticket is unique and will only scan once.
