About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This month's pick, Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy, selected by exhibiting artist Katarzyna Perlak, follows the character Connie Ramos. After being unjustly committed to a mental institution, Connie is contacted by an envoy from the year 2137, who shows her a utopian future of sexual and racial equality and environmental harmony. But she also bears witness to another potential outcome: a dystopian society of grotesque exploitation. One will become our world. And Connie herself may strike the decisive blow...

The book club will start with a brief exhibition tour of Katarzyna Perlak's Better a bare foot than none, led by TBG+S's Sadbh O'Brien. Eric Patrick Byrne and Dónal Talbot of Queer Book Club will then lead the book club with some refreshments in Studio 1.

This event is a collaboration between Queer Book Club and TBG+S Art + Literature Book Club.
