About the day

Queen Maeve’s Trail is a breathtaking loop hike up Knocknarea, leading to the ancient cairn of Queen Maeve, a site steeped in mythology and history. This 7.9 km route follows a well-maintained boardwalk with a steady incline, rewarding you with panoramic views of Sligo Bay at the summit.

This moderately challenging hike takes approximately 3 hours to complete, making it suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness.

After the hike, we’ll head to a local spot in Strandhill to refuel and continue the chats!

Please note this is a self-guided walk. The host will have a map of the route, but you are responsible for your own safety.
