What's it all about?
Let's face it, everyone wants off the apps. We love to see a move towards more in person dating events, and maybe you've even tried some, whether that's anything from speed dating to running clubs. The reality is that ultimately, what we are all looking for is a chance at a genuine connection. We think three things need to come together for that to happen:
- a group of available people open to connecting in person and open to trying something different...
- a low-key, unpressured, and friendly environment...
- a fun and engaging activity that helps everyone to loosen up and find common ground!
That's where Pitch a Friend comes in. Sometimes, all we need is a great wingman or wingwoman to up our dating game. Think about it - no one has your back more than your best friend. They are the person reminds you of all your great qualities, talks you up to new people and thinks that your niche hobbies and quirky personality traits are some of the best things about you. In an ideal world, singles would meet 'through a mutual friend' but it's not always that easy!
How does it work?
Pitch a Friend is designed to put wingmanship at the centre of the event. We bring together a great crowd of singles who want to mingle and connect. We then showcase a number of those singles in the room through a 3 minute presentation on their great qualities submitted in advance of the event. The catch is - the presentations are designed and delivered by their best friend/wingperson. After each presentation there is a 2 minute audience Q&A with the person being presented so you can start connecting with people who catch your eye! There will also be a lightning round afterwards for anyone who wants to pitch off the cuff for a friend or someone they've just met!
At the end of the presentations it's time to party :)
Who's it for?
This event is best suited for single men and women aged 25-40ish of all sexual orientations. If you are being pitched, your friend pitching you doesn't have to be single - there is a colour coded name tag system so people can indicate whether they are single or attached.
You don't have to pitch or be pitched to attend - you can just buy a ticket to come along, hear the pitches and meet other guests.
Want to take part and pitch a friend on the night?
If you are interested in pitching on the night, you can submit a presentation through our form (available at the top of this event page, in your ticket confirmation email and on our socials). If you pitch on the night, you and your friend both attend for free!
Frequently asked questions
Yes - to make sure we can manage capacity on the night we ask that everyone, whether pitcher, pitchee, or general attendee, buys a ticket. If you are pitched or pitching on the night - you will have your ticket price refunded!
No! This event is as much about the audience as the presenters. We want this to be a fun and different way for singles to connect. You can buy a ticket to come along, meet people and enjoy the presentations!
The ticket price gets you entry to the event for the night and finger food. As a volunteer led community, ticket sales help us cover the costs for running events!
