“Rapture of Flames” delves into a queer reimagining of the end of the world, foretold by a radical Trans preacher, Daisy. She explores how societal conformity has turned this world rotten, and expresses the need for a new life where we are able to be our true, unique, monstrous selves. Join her in this final ritual to prepare your soul through music, dance, and performance.

About the Artist

Venus Patel is a transfemme* artist of colour who works primarily with performance and film. In her work, Patel utilises a unique mix of humour and absurdity to deal with serious subject matter such as hate crimes, religious guilt, and Queer/POC suppression, and create multi-faceted performances and experiences.

Patel’s first solo exhibition, “Monsters of the Apocalypse”, opened with Pallas Projects last year. Her work has been exhibited at Crawford Art Gallery, Butler Gallery, and The Complex.
