About this event

This play is set in bronze age Greece in a time when heroes and gods lived among one another. The Odyssey is a tale of homecoming, but not only that. It tells the journey of one man, namely Odysseus, who has been away from his home, Ithaca, for twenty years, after he fought in the Trojan war. The play has taken some episodes from the poem and adapted them for an audience.

In particular, we will encounter Penelope, his wife, who waited twenty years at home for him, with the company of her maid Eurycleia. Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, is also at home and is depicted in our play as an aimless young man, left in Ithaca as a prince. In the meantime, in the palace, the men of Ithaca - suitors of Penelope - try to win her hand, presuming Odysseus is dead.
