About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Susannah Stark is a singer, composer, keyboardist and visual artist from Fife, Scotland. She makes experimental pop songs formed out of explorations into softness and vulnerability, focused on a heightened sensory experience of voice and sound. These soundscapes, orchestrated by voice, synths, trumpet, field recordings and distorted percussion are intended to evoke places, both internal and external, connected with experiences of faith and being.

Network Music Glasgow is a Glasgow-based computer music group with currently three members, Neil Quigley, Rachel Ní Chuinn and Simon Weins. They work with audio-visual programming languages to collaborate, compose and perform music in real-time through Wifi networks.

New String Collective is a group of bowed-string players interested in pushing at the edges of the conventional string orchestra. Comprising some of Scotland’s most exciting, radical string players, improvisation is at the heart of its process and practice. Unbound by the hegemony of notation, New String Collective is free to interrogate sound and form, and to mine the rich sonic landscapes of the violin, viola, cello and double bass.
