Nature Based Solutions to Habitat Creation Workshop
Join local volunteers to support the Restore Ballymacraven River Association, with whom Hometree have partnered in recent months, on this free practical field trip to 'The Glen' of the Ballymacraven River in Ennistymon. Learn more about the use of Nature Based Solutions in habitat creation, river restoration and grounding people in nature. This 2 hour event, led by river restoration specialists and local nature based solutions practitioner, Ruairí Ó Conchúir (LAWPRO), will focus on the beautiful riparian woodlands of the lower Ballymacraven River above the confluence with the Inagh River Estuary. It will review how large wind blown trees and timber can be used for nature. Practical demonstration work (outside of the river) will be undertaken as part of the field trip and the plans of the Restore Ballymacraven River Association for river restoration later in 2025 using a NBS approach will be outlined. This is free event, but booking is required, and places are limited. The event will be followed by a cup of tea / coffee hosted by the Restore Ballymacraven River Association.
