The National Volunteer Management Conference enables and enhances volunteering through the promotion of best practice in volunteer management.
The conference provides the opportunity for volunteer managers to spend some quality time on personal development, networking with colleagues and participating in a host of motivating focused on volunteer recruitment, retention, training, support and management.
This event is essential to anyone who leads volunteers as part of their role (paid or unpaid) or anyone interested in volunteer engagement in the Community & Voluntary Sector or the Corporate Sector.

Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration Professional Development
Attending this learning opportunity with Volunteer Ireland can be applied towards hours required for professional development requirements for initial CVA (Certified Volunteer Administrator) certification or CVA Renewal.
CVA Certification is the only internationally recognised credential is the field of Volunteer Administration. If you require proof of the number of hours you engaged in professional development please contact Volunteer Ireland. CCVA will not have proof of your attendance at events they haven’t organised. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, and there are lifts to all floors directly from the underground car park which is also wheelchair accessible. There are designated EU Parking Card spots in the car park. Service Dogs are welcome
There are 1,200 weather proof car parking spaces which are conveniently located underground at the Athlone Town Centre Shopping Centre / Sheraton Athlone Hotel. Follow the blue "P" parking signs and enter via Glesson Street at the front of the hotel.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations – Available in the north end of the car park on level A. The cost of electricity to the customer is 36 cent per kilowatt hour. A QR code can be scanned from the side of the charging unit or the MOMTA app can also be used
The Westport / Ballina train arrives at 09:06, the Galway train arrives at 09:06, and Dublin Heuston arrives at 09:07. Departing trains: 16:13 and 18:51 to Westport / Ballina, 16:12 and 17:03 to Galway,16:56 and 18:30 to Dublin. Book a seat, which is advised at www.irishrail.ie

Yes, Bus Éireann operate many services to Athlone Bus Station from round the country. You can find details at www.buseireann.ie. CityLink Service 763 runs between Dublin Airport and Galway and makes stops including B&Q Arcadia Retail Centre, Athlone
It is 500 metres from the bus and train station to the hotel, it should take 7 minutes to walk. If you are arriving by CityLink bus it is 1.7km from the hotel, it should take 25 minutes to walk to the hotel.
Athlone was chosen based on feedback from participants in previous NVMC. It is accessible by Train and Bus and if travelling by car the venue is a 3 minute drive from exit 10 on the M6 Dublin to Galway Motorway. It is a one-hour drive from the M50, a 50-minute drive from Galway.
