What is the National PPI Festival 2024?

The third National PPI Festival, taking place during the month of October, will shine a spotlight on the remarkable strides in Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in Irish research. The theme this year is Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate.

PPI is defined as ‘research done ‘with’ or ’by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.

The Festival, hosted by PPI Ignite Network@ UCC aims to:

- Celebrate PPI progress to date

- Increase overall public awareness of PPI

- Allow a creative space for innovation

In-person and online events will be held across the country by and for members of the public, representatives from charity and voluntary organizations, healthcare professionals, and researchers, all united through the shared goal of research that makes a positive difference. Keep an eye on the Calendar of Events to see what is happening near you and online.
