Frequently asked questions
Moth & Butterfly is an event that brings together the art forms of both Storytelling & Improvisation.
There will be three types of Storytelling on the night: 'Moth' style stories are true, and feature the teller themselves as the central character, 'Butterfly' Stories are improvised on the spot, and 'Freefall' stories are all other kinds of stories that fit the theme.
This is a night for oral storytelling, so no reading or notes – just pure story! Great stories invite us in for a listen. They don’t always have to be funny by any means (but they can be!). We invite people to tell stories from the heart.
Not at all! The night is for both tellers and listeners, for without good listeners; there would be no good stories!
We draw tellers from a hat. If you have a story to fit the theme and would like your name to be included as a potential audience teller on the night please email us to: mothandbutterflystories@gmail.com by October 9th - with 'OCTOBER HAT' in the subject line.
Stories can be true or fictional, should fit the theme, and should be a maximum of 9 – 10 mins long (shorter is fine).
