Frequently asked questions

Does the group meet every Monday evening?

The group meets most Monday evenings but not on Bank Holidays or during July or August. We also take a break for the Monday before and the Monday after Christmas Day. If unsure, ring Noel on 087 2251183 to check!

Is parking available?

There is generally parking available on site - but very occasionally an event in the Cathedral may result in a lack of space at the venue. There is normally parking available in the car park near the Workman's Club also.

Is the event open to people of all traditions?

Yes. Meditation is a universal practice that finds expression in secular society in mindfulness but which also finds expression across all major religious traditions. There is a particular focus in this group on meditation as a spiritual practice and on its expression in the Christian tradition.

Is this a free event?

Yes. There is no charge for this weekly event.

What does attendance involve?

The group leader each evening will give or play a short talk on how the practice can deepen our spiritual sensitivity. Participants will have the opportunity to comment or to ask questions but there is no requirement to say anything. The talk and chat are followed by a 20-minute silent meditation.
