At the end of an otherwise good day, it's the negatives that seem to stand out.

I explain why this happens and how we can get better at not giving negatives so much focus.

We start the hour with a talk about our mind. Our thoughts have a direct impact on our mood.

After the talk I do a guided walk through the wood, stopping lots of times to build a mindfulness practice. Taking a break from being in autopilot.

I end with a meditation by an old stone bridge. People can sit or stand.

Hi, I am Lisa. I did a Diploma to teach 'Mindfulness & Positive Psychology' in the 'Irish Mindfulness Academy' in 2021/22.

I teach 6 week courses on 'Mindfulness & Positive Psychology'. This course includes positive psychology, neuroscience, 7 foundational attitudes of mindfulness, gratitude journaling, meditations, informal mindfulness, CBT, etc,.

I do one to one Mindful coaching. I facilitate in groups with Aware, teaching mindfulness.

Through practicing mindfulness, it allows us to stay calm when issues come up, rather than being in our fear center. The fear center can create a feeling of panic and distraction.

Mindfulness is not about ignoring an issue but rather about the ability to stay calm when issues come up. This can result in a better outcome.

Frequently asked questions

How to find the meeting place?

Turn into the 'Thatch', drive through carpark towards the wood, drive past playground and the next carpark, is where we meet. I will be by the seats.

What if it rains?

With eventbrite, I can only refund 1 day before the event and it is not always possible to predict the weather, that far out. Unless of course there is a weather warning or if its not suitable on the day, I will cancel and refund. I suggest bringing a backpack with an umbrella.

Where is the meditation?

After the walk I do a meditation near the old stone bridge, you can bring a cushion (in your backpack)and sit down or stand, entirely up to up.

What age is it suitable for?

I say over 18 but to be honest, it's very relaxed, nothing heavy going. I want it to be a relaxing, resetting hour, time out.
