About this event
The Bodywhys team would like to invite you to the virtual launch of the new Bodywhys Body Image website. Body image is an issue affecting people of all ages and genders. Research indicates that negative body image is linked to the development of eating disorders and other mental health issues including depression, anxiety, alcohol and substance misuse and to higher levels of self-harm and suicidality.
The COVID 19 restrictions have resulted in changes to the way we live and an increasing amount of time online. Some of these changes have exacerbated body image concerns and had a negative impact on overall wellbeing. In light of the current restrictions we have developed a range of new online materials for young people, schools and for parents. We have also included information to address specific body image concerns in men, women, LGBTQIA+ and in those with physical disabilities.
