About the programme
Join us in building practical skills and knowledge to reduce waste, and make more sustainable choices in a way that’s relevant to everyday life. This programme kicks off with two community chat sessions in May, where we’ll explore local priorities and ideas. These conversations will help shape three hands-on workshops taking place in 2025. The initiative is led by the Royal Terrace Residents Association in collaboration with Understory.
About the facilitator
Alex Konieczka is an ecologist, qualified trainer, and the director of Understory, a zero-waste organisation dedicated to practical climate and biodiversity action. She specialises in environmental education, designing hands-on, community-driven projects that create real change.
Alex’s approach is interactive, accessible, and empowering—whether you're a beginner or already engaged, you’ll leave with fresh knowledge, practical tools, and inspiration to take action. Her workshops and projects have been highly rated for their impact, not just on the environment, but on the individuals and communities involved.
