In Conversation: Paul Muldoon and Anne Enright

Spend an hour in the company of two of Ireland’s most extraordinary writers as they discuss poetry, prose and the craft of writing.

Paul Muldoon is a Pulitzer prize-winning poet. Described as ‘the most significant English-language poet born since the Second World War’, he is the author of more than fifteen collections including, most recently, Howdie-Skelp (2021) and Joy in Service on Rue Tagore (2024). Paul is the current Ireland Professor of Poetry.

Anne Enright is the author of eight novels, in addition to short stories and non-fiction works. Her most recent novel, The Wren, The Wren, was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Anne’s reviews and essays have appeared in the New Yorker, the London Review of Books, Granta and elsewhere. This year she was awarded the prestigious Windham-Campbell Prize. Anne is Professor of Fiction at the UCD School of English, Drama & Film, where she teaches on the MA and MFA in Creative Writing.

The Trapdoor Theatre is in the basement of the Arts Block building on UCD campus. Take the left hand entrance into the Arts block and go down the stairs.
