How to Stop Stressing Out About Your To-Do List, Dr. Áine O’Dea #LMHW2024

Completing everyday tasks is just a part of life, but getting things done can be more difficult for some of us than others - and that can invoke a lot of stress! The good news is that it all comes down to something called Executive Functioning skills. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with how talented the company directors are, or how well the CEO manages the company budget, and everything to do with the cognitive skills that allow us to effectively plan, prepare and execute tasks.

Join us for this session where our guest speaker, Dr. Áine O'Dea PhD, will talk you through some of the common strategies that can be used to improve your Executive Functioning skills and reduce the stress about that To-Do list!

About the Presenter

Dr. Áine O'Dea PhD, is a renowned occupational therapist and the first OT in Ireland to be awarded her doctorate via the prestigious SPHeRE programme. Her expertise lies in applying scientific and practical knowledge to support individual and team wellbeing through evidence-based behaviour change strategies and interventions.

She is a mom of two, living in the Dooradoyle area of Limerick, and in her spare time, Áine likes to help train the underage girls teams at Ballinacurra Gaels GAA club and enjoy long walks on the Atlantic coast.

Limerick Mental Health Week 2024

Date: October 6th - 13th, 2024

Theme: Community, Compassion & Connection

Join us for Limerick Mental Health Week 2024, dedicated to promoting mental well-being in our community. This year’s theme, “Community, Compassion & Connection,” focuses on activities that nurture the physical, mental, and social health of Limerick residents.

Organized by

Limerick Mental Health Association (LMHA) promotes positive mental health across Limerick City and County. We have a permanent home in the heart of Limerick City.

A group of community leaders set up LMHA in 2002. LMHA created and oversees the work of Le Chéile Peer Support Project, which promotes positive mental health within the local community.

We are helping the community to be well and maintain a positive mental health experience. One of our tools to achieve this is Wellness Recovery Action Planning – (WRAP) catered to you. These tools help you to manage the natural ups and downs of life.

We run Mental Health Week every year. The week will provide a forum to generate discussion, reduce stigma and promote positive mental health and well-being. Finally, Limerick Mental Health Week highlights the range of supports and services which are available within the local community to support our mental health.

We are affiliated with, and share the aims of Mental Health Ireland (MHI) – a national voluntary organisation. We promote positive mental health and support people who experience mental health difficulties.
