This Board Training is suitable for managers in the arts and creative sectors who report to the board and want to develop their understanding of its needs.

The course covers:

  • the roles and responsibilities of charity trustees/board directors under Company Law and Charity Law
  • board meetings
  • board papers
  • reviewing the board
  • board relationships
  • conflicts of interest
  • governance and management
  • and the Charities Governance Code.

Trainer: Gráinne Madden

Gráinne is an expert in corporate responsibility and business ethics and an experienced trainer and facilitator. She runs a specialist consultancy helping businesses avoid problems, enhance reputation and harness their power to improve society. She is also an experienced Trustee, Chair and Company Secretary.

Travel Bursaries: If you are based outside Dublin City, a limited number of travel bursaries are available to cover the travel costs to attend this workshop. To avail of a travel bursary, please send a short bio to info@safetocreate.ie.

Travel bursaries will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis, and only upon completion of the course and on receipt of invoice and travel receipts. Applicants must be resident on the island of Ireland.
