Nature Guides

Creative observations of the natural world

This Spring the Glucksman’s school art workshops encourage young people to observe, experience and respond to the beauty and wonder of our natural world. Students will discover nature themed artworks on the University College Cork campus and taking inspiration from these works by contemporary Irish artists, they will engage in innovative age appropriate creative activities. The workshops will also include the opportunity to connect with nature in the University College Cork lower grounds. The university is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna with 451 species recorded on campus. In line with the Glucksman’s green guidelines and approach to sustainable practices in our education programme, students will work with recycled and low waste materials to create their artworks. The created artworks will be showcased at the Glucksman as part of a large scale schools exhibition in March 2025.

The Nature Guides exhibition will bring together artwork by young people from across the region and will be on view to the public from 13-16 March 2025.

Workshops cost €100 and run for 1.5 hours.
Workshops run Tuesday to Friday, 9am and 11am.
This programme of school workshops will run from 15 January to 7 March 2025.
