The Francophonie Film Festival 2025 is back and opens at Lighthouse Cinema !

As part of the Francophonie Festival in Ireland 2025 and to mark the annual celebration of French language and cultural diversity, we are delighted to present an entertaining evening at the Light House Cinema featuring the screening of the film 'Animalia’ by French-Moroccan film director Sofia Alaoui, followed by an international buffet with culinary specialities from participating Embassies.

Winner of the Sundance's Grand Jury Prize, this film will open the Francophonie Film Festival and mark International Women's Day.

'Animalia' is a sci-fi thriller that follows the journey of a pregnant young woman from a rural Berber background who finds emancipation as aliens land in Morocco…

H. E. Dr. Lahcen Mahraoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland, will officially open the Festival.
