Join us for an exciting new cycle of screenings of contemporary Italian films in the spaces of our Institute! From January to June 2024 we will screen 10 films in Italian with English subtitles by the best contemporary directors.

The next appointment will be Monday 20 January 2025 at 6pm for the screening of: ‘Assolo”, directed by and starring Laura Morante.

The film tells the story of a middle-aged woman struggling with the difficulties of everyday life, her professional and sentimental challenges. The protagonist tries to find her balance in a context of change and uncertainty. With a delicate and ironic look, Morante explores universal themes such as loneliness, self-sufficiency and the search for the self.

The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of the context and work of the director.

THE DIRECTOR: Laura Morante is an Italian actress, director, and screenwriter, born in 1956. Morante made her directorial debut with the film Assolo (2016), showcasing her talent in both acting and filmmaking.
