Ar feadh i bhfad, breathnaíodh ar an nGaeilge tríd an lionsa céanna – scoileanna, ciorcail chomhrá agus aistriúcháin. Ach má dhéanann tú beagánín thochailt, feicfidh tú rud eile – cathair ar tí athraithe. Teanga atá réidh le slabhraí an sean-stíle a bhriseadh agus an todhchaí a thiomáint.

Ní rud den am atá thart í an Ghaeilge – is croílár na cruthaitheachta í, an splanc a mhúnlóidh ár dtodhchaí. Uirlis chumhachtach í, atá in ann cathair níos ceangailte, níos uileghabhálaí a chruthú – áit a dtéann nuálaíocht agus traidisiún lámh ar láimh.

Ag Féile na bhFéidearthachtaí, casann smaointe móra leis an dtionchar atá timpeall an chúinne. Le míonna anuas, tá 25 nuálaí ó údaráis áitiúla Bhaile Átha Cliath ag athshamhlú na Gaeilge mar inneall fáis don chontae. Ó ailtirí go hinnealtóirí, ó thógálaithe pobail go cumarsáidithe, tá na féidearthachtaí gan teorainn. Tá an Ghaeilge réidh le bheith i gcroílár an chéad chaibidil eile i scéal Bhaile Átha Cliath.

Anois, is fútsa atá sé. Ní taispeántas amháin é seo – is deis é. Bí ag plé lenár nuálaithe, déan a smaointe a dhúshlánú agus roinn d'fhís féin faoin todhchaí. Cibé an cainteoir Ghaeilge thú nó duine atá fiosrach faoin dteanga, tá do ghuth ríthábhachtach.

Ní ceist í an éireoidh leis an nGaeilge. Tá sé sin chun tarlú. Is í an cheist: an mbeidh tusa páirteach sa todhchaí seo?
