What is the Start-up Café?
Held on the last Thursday of each month, the Start-up Café is a relaxed coffee morning where aspiring entrepreneurs gather to learn, connect, and develop their business ideas. Each session features a guest entrepreneur who shares their journey, from early ideation to launch, and leads a workshop to help you refine your own concept. You’ll also have the chance to pitch your idea and receive valuable feedback in an open-mic session.

What to Expect at the Start-up Café:
☕ Networking: Connect with like-minded entrepreneurs in a friendly, supportive environment.
💡 Insights and Inspiration: Hear directly from guest entrepreneurs who’ve brought early-stage ideas to life—putting their customer insights and value propositions into action, just as you have.
🎯 Hands-On Workshop: Each guest will guide you through practical exercises to develop your idea and improve your pitch.
🎙️ Pitch Open Mic: Practise pitching your idea in a casual, low-pressure setting and receive helpful feedback.

February's Start-up Café:
Our guest entrepreneur for our February Start-up Café is Paul Jackman.

Paul Anthony Jackman is the CEO and founder of Handsome Scent, Ireland’s leading independently owned fragrance brands specializing in pocket-sized perfumes. He launched the business in 2020 after spotting a gap in the market for high-quality, travel-friendly fragrances. Since then, Handsome Scent has grown to over 50,000 customers across Ireland, the UK, the USA, Canada, and Europe.

Building on this success, Paul recently launched Paul Anthony, a premium fragrance brand designed for those who appreciate high-end, expertly crafted scents. Available in Ireland, the USA, and other international markets.

Outside of perfumery, Paul is the Marketing Director and a Partner in the Boeuf Hospitality Group, one of Dublins top steakhouse brands (most notable Boeuf & Frites). He joined in 2022 while the Boeuf brand had just one 35-seat restaurant in South William Street. Since then, Paul was responsible for bringing the Boeuf brand to life, using social media to make it one of the first viral restaurants on TikTok and Instagram in Ireland by adapting a e-commerce approach to the groups marketing efforts.
