Through slowing down, looking and having a relaxed chat, we will explore our experience of the artworks and how we can make personal connections with them. We will also consider the ways each artwork works together to form the exhibition in the Gallery.
This event is suitable for all including those who are new to, or curious about, contemporary art. This is a special private viewing outside of gallery hours. Please meet at the gallery entrance for 11.30am.
Fergus Feehily is an artist from Dublin based in Berlin. His current exhibition Fortune House, is situated in deep winter, taking place on both sides of the solstice, continuing into brighter days. This changing context draws on ideas of illumination, making associations with places as far-reaching as the megalithic site of Newgrange and the neon streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo. These locations have personal significance to the artist, bridging time and memory through the exhibition. The title, Fortune House, conjures a vision of a site where luck, prosperity, or a glimpse into the future might be found.
Event Location Description: This event will take place in a room of natural light with wall based artwork. Seating is available if needed. For further details on accessibility please email Órla at orla@templebargallery.com or call 01 6710073.
