Hollywood St Kevin’s Way Group invite you on an end-of-year hike around famous Glendalough. This is a 13km loop hike which will take in Laragh, Brockagh Mountain, visiting five of the Churches of Glendalough, the Round Tower, and the upper and lower Glendalough lakes.

This end of year hike, hosted by St Kevin’s Way Hollywood Group is a bit different! We’ll be undertaking a loop walk around Glendalough, visiting five of the seven churches as well as other historic sites.
This loop walk takes in the destination of St Kevin’s Way - Glendalough. We do not host a walk on St Kevin’s Way in December due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Starting in Laragh Free Carpark we will walk through Laragh to Brockagh lane where we will meet the Wicklow Way route. We follow the Way along Glenmacnass river onto the base of Brockagh Mountain. We will enter Glendalough and see the Upper Lake . We travel back via the green road to the start.
This is a moderate 13km walk/hike. There is moderate elevation and descent. Paths may be mucky and slippy. Weather conditions can be poor. The walk is guided by St Kevin's Way Group.
We will visit Reefert Church (‘Righ Fearta’ meaning burial place of the kings) and St Kevin’s Cell at the base of Poulamass waterfall. We will also take in St Kieran’s Church also known as St Kevin’s Kitchen, and the Cathedral. We will travel along the green road visiting St. Saviour’s Priory.
St Kevin’s Way Hollywood Group is a group of volunteers that run regular hikes and walks along St. Kevin’s Way and in Glendalough.
Bring a hat and an extra top, rain gear, waterproof boots. Pack a lunch and water – we have more water available at our breaks. There will be refreshments available at the lunchbreak.
Registration takes place at 9.30am in LARAGH FREE CARPARK. Directions are available on Google Maps.

Toilets available in Glendalough Visitor’s Centre and the Upper Lake Carpark (lunch break). There is usually one Portaloo toilet available where we park.
The walk is timed to finish back in Laragh Free Carpark at approximately 2pm. Walkers unable to achieve this very modest pace must exit the walk, accept a lift back to the start, or proceed at their own risk.
Walking this loop walk can be physically demanding, and you should only attempt it if you have regular experience of walking longer distances. We walk to an elevation of 354m and descend 357m. Please do not register or attempt the walk if you have a medical condition or are unused to long hikes.
The walk is NOT suitable for children under the age of 16 years. Children over 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
This loop walk traverses a variety of terrain including roads, gravel paths, boggy ground, forest tracks, grassy trails, and uneven surfaces. Please wear suitable waterproof footwear.
This route is moderately hilly with an elevation of 354m. Please only attempt it if you’re fit and able.
NO DOGS are allowed – no exceptions.
We will be stopping for a lunch break. Please bring a packed lunch and water. Refreshments provided at our lunch break.

Cost: €25 plus booking fee. A portion of the proceeds for this walk will be donated to charity.
There is a seven-day cancellation policy. A full refund can be issued if you cancel seven days before the event. Otherwise, we cannot refund you. If the event is cancelled by the organisers for any reason, full refunds will be issued.
