Women navigating the myriad symptoms of menopause are invited to take a day out, to be informed, nourished and treated at this event “Empowered Transitions: A Day of Self-Care for Women in Menopause”, taking place on Sunday 29 September at the Ballymaloe Grainstore. This uplifting event aims to provide women with the tools, support and  knowledge they need to embrace this significant life stage with confidence and grace.

A retreat designed for women who are either learning what to expect or are already experiencing menopause and perimenopause, the day will feature open discussion to foster a sense of shared experience and community support, yoga movement practices specifically designed to build bone and muscle strength necessary at this time of life, information sessions focused on self-care and wellness and a strong emphasis on relaxation. Attendees will gain insights into managing symptoms, understanding hormonal changes, and embracing a holistic approach to health during this transitional period.

Event Highlights:

  • Information & Discussion: With more than 12 year experience of teaching yoga and leading retreats, along with further studies into the benefits of yoga for Menopause and Bone Health, Kate Cuddy will lead the discussion and provide some insight and possible solutions, covering topics such as stress management, mindfulness, nutrition for hormonal health and fitness for menopause.
  • Supportive Environment: Opportunities to connect with others facing similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding.
  • Interactive Activities: Engage in strength building yoga, soothing breath work, and calming, balancing meditation sessions to promote relaxation and self-discovery. Take a walk around the beautiful grounds of Ballymaloe House as we let our sumptuous lunch settle.
  • Sound Healing: To encourage deep relaxation at the end of the day, we will be joined by Melanie O’Driscoll to be bathed in healing sounds as you rest after the day’s activities.
