About this event

The Dublin Review asked three brilliant contributors – Sam Bungey, Brenda Romero and Jessica Traynor – to choose an essay they especially love from the journal’s nearly twenty-four years of publishing. In this year’s Dublin Review Conversations event, the three will talk about what they love about these essays, how they relate to their own work, and what they tell us about the art and craft of essay writing.

The chosen essays are:

'We’re not those kind of people' by Eoin Butler (chosen by Sam Bungey)

'The blackpool', 'Escape velocity' and 'Home', a triptych by Tim MacGabhann (chosen by Brenda Romero)

'Why didn't I know this already' by Niamh Campbell (chosen by Jessica Traynor)
