Please read the event details fully before booking a place.
This hike is open to everyone, whether you want to bring your own dog or simply join us to meet the DSPCA dogs.
Important: All participants must have sturdy, waterproof footwear and a rain jacket. You will not be allowed to join the walk without these items. For the full list of what to bring, see below.
We will meet in the overflow carpark in Tibradden, which is at the very end of the carpark.
The goals of this dog-friendly hike are to:
- Provide DSPCA shelter dogs with an opportunity to experience a public environment and meet potential adopters.
- Offer dog owners a chance to attend a public hike with their dogs.
We will accommodate a maximum of 10 dogs.
- 5 spaces will be open to the public and their dogs.
- 5 spaces will be reserved for DSPCA dogs.
- Limited additional spaces for members of the public (you may not bring a dog) who are interested in meeting and potentially adopting a DSPCA dog.
Due to the nature of this event and our goal to help find new homes for shelter dogs, please only book a space if you are certain you can attend, as this may prevent someone who is serious about adopting a dog from attending.
Route Details: This walk will be led by DMP Volunteer Rangers. The route includes Tibradden Cairn, continues to Fairy Castle, and descends to the Three Rock viewing point. It then loops back to the Tibradden car park via a section of the Wicklow Way, following good paths and trails.
