About this event

Lucy Nugent, CEO at TUH and President European Association of Hospital Managers, will give the distinguished lecture ”Hospital without walls and Innovation” on 19th December 11am at Maynooth University.

This is the final distinguished lecture in the 2024 series kindly sponsored by AstraZeneca which has featured distinguished lectures from Prof Dan Lasserson (UK), Russ Branzell (USA) and Sigrid Berge van Rooijen (Netherlands).

This Winter Lecture will also be special as Lucy Nugent will also receive the IVI Leader in Healthcare Innovation Award.

Prof Martin Curley, Director of Digital Health Ecosystem said “Lucy Nugent’s leadership on innovation culture and systems at Tallaght University Hospital, her courage in implementing the Evolve Electronic Health record in TUH, her vision of a hospital without walls and her appointment as the first female president of the European Association of Hospital Managers are all compelling reasons why Lucy is awarded the 2024 IVI Leader in Healthcare Innovation Award”.

In addition, Lucy Nugent has also just been announced as the incoming CEO of Children’s Health Ireland which is a very exciting announcement for all and this will be a great opportunity for the Irish Health ecosystem and community to hear from one of the most foremost health leaders in Ireland as she transitions from TUH to CHI.

The respondent to the lecture will be Liam Dowdall, chair of the Irish Voluntary Healthcare association and previously chair of the TUH Board.
