About this event

Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) Industry Partner Showcase

This event will be an opportunity to learn from and network with industry peers, meet potential collaborators, and discuss ideas for future DTIFs.

Join us for this informative event to see:

  • Showcases of DTIF projects in the areas of MedTech (Perceive Project), Maritime Surveillance and Drug Interdiction (Guard Project), and Photonics Manufacturing (Photonics Pilot Line Project).
  • Demos of working prototypes from DTIFs at Tyndall.
  • Experts speak about their experience and success with DTIF.

DTIF is managed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland) For more information click here.

Showcase 1: GUARD

The GUARD project has developed world-leading smart drone technology, that can efficiently survey large areas of coastline, which will revolutionize future maritime surveillance.

GUARD’s world-leading innovations:

  • Fully autonomous drones capable of operating in harsh weather with 800km range
  • Automatic flight plan and permissions for operation in civil airspace
  • Automatic creation of digital twin of survey area & AI based video analysis
  • Gigabit mm-wave communications & reliable low latency multi-connectivity
  • VR control enabling intuitive ‘human in the loop’ high value decision making

Associate Partners:
Analog Devices

Showcase 2: Perceive

The PERCEIVE DTIF project aims to use catheter sensor technology to significantly increase Atrial Fibrillation (a heart condition that causes an irregular heart rhythm that can lead to heart failure or stroke) treatment efficacy and safety while reducing the enormous burden on healthcare systems globally. The project will develop an ultrasound based catheter imaging system that will provide cardiologists with full 360 anatomical data.

Partners:
Lumavision | Freudenberg | Tyndall | MCCI

Showcase 3: Photonics Pilot Line

The Photonics Pilot Line project established a dedicated open-access facility for early-stage manufacturing of emerging photonic-based products. The national facility addresses key technological and manufacturing challenges to the second digital revolution whereby photonics and microelectronics will be integrated into miniaturised low-energy smart systems at lower manufacturing costs than previously possible.
