Do you want to learn more about Dialectical Behavioural Therapy?

This session will explore the potential of DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) to improve recovery and wellbeing. We will learn about the application of DBT in supporting people who experience a range of challenging mental health conditions as well as the specific ways that DBT does this. Practically we will focus on mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance. Whilst having some fun and connecting with each other, we will identify the different supports, tools and strategies to bring more genuine positivity into our lives. Perhaps you already have a simple tool that you would like to share?

Organised by

REGARI (Roscommon and East Galway Advancing Recovery in Ireland) Recovery College is a community-based initiative that aims to understand mental health through education, collaboration, and conversation. A defining feature of REGARI is the approach it takes when developing and delivering modules. Each module is co-produced and delivered by people with lived experience of mental health challenges, family members, carers, people working in mental health, staff and others interested in mental health and well-being. Our workshops cover a variety of topics related to mental health and well-being with a focus on the knowledge and the practical tools that will help us shape the life we want to live.

Our service aims to support, maintain and promote positive mental health in the community and to foster hopeful conversations about the human condition and challenges associated with poor mental health. Our mission is to advance personal recovery and well-being through vibrant adult education in a sharing and supportive environment. Our ethos is respect for each and every personal experience, respect for the dignity of our human rights and person-hood, and respect for our own personal empowerment in shaping our own destiny.

The College continues to expand their curriculum and this term new courses include ‘Affirming a Positive Mindset’, ‘Communication Skills’ & ‘Living Well With Anxiety’, to name but a few. Courses are open to service users, mental health staff, family members, carers and people with an interest in mental health (+18). All voices welcome.
