Welcome to Prints & Tales: Linocut Printmaking and Storytelling Workshop!

As part of Culture Night 2024, join us for an evening of creativity and storytelling at Portumna Town Hall. This unique workshop combines the art of linocut printmaking with the magic of collaborative storytelling. Participants will learn the basics of linocut carving and printing, creating their own prints. As each participant completes their print, we will incorporate these individual images into a collective narrative.this unique workshop combines the art of linocut printmaking with the magic of collaborative storytelling. During the workshop, you will:

  1. Receive a brief introduction to the techniques and tools used in linocut printmaking.
  2. Design and carve your own linoleum block.
  3. Print your design onto high-quality paper.
  4. Collaborate with fellow participants to craft a unique story inspired by the prints.
  5. Record your voice narrating a part of the collective story.


At the end of the session, we will compile the prints, story, and voice recordings into a video. Each participant will receive a digital copy of this video, featuring photographs of their prints and the final story. This workshop is suitable for beginners. All materials will be provided. Adults 18+
