Is é an foinse an geata chuig an domhan thíos. Tabharfaidh ‘Foinse’ an lucht féachana isteach i sean áit draíochta atá fós linn.
This myth tells the story of Cu Roi Mac Daire the great druid & hero of Munster, who was unjustly refused his fair share of the spoils of a raid with the men of Ulster. The great druid, to get justice, stole the beautiful Blathnat daughter of Midir of Brí Léith and took her to his enchanted fortress high up on Caherconree, the mountain that still bears his name. Like the druid himself, the castle fortress had many faces and each night the magic of Cú Roi would spin a different side to hide it’s vulnerable heart.
Is é atá sa scéal seo ná miotas faoi Chú Roí Mac Daire – sárlaoch agus draoi de chuid na Mumhan, rinneadh feall air nuair nach bhfuair sé roinnt na creiche a bhí tuillte aige as ionsaí a rinne sé leis na hUltaigh. Mar dhíoltas as an masla sin ghoid an draoi cailiúil banphrionsa darbh ainm Blathnat, ba í sin iníon aoibhinn le Midhir Bhrí Léith, agus d’imigh an draoi léi go dtí a chaisleán draíochta féin thuas ar Chathair Conraoi, áit a bhfuil a ainm fós ann. Cosúil leis an draoi féin bhí aghaidheanna difriúla ag an gcaisleán agus chuile oíche trí dhraíocht ó Chú Roí Mac Daire athraíodh leagan amach an chaisleán ionas nach mbeadh a fhios ag a naimhde conas gur féidir ionsaí a dhéanamh ar an gcaisleán.
