Creative Writing Workshop with Author Louise Phillips

(Level - Beginners/Emerging)

Over the course of two workshops, character and dialogue in fiction will be explored, focusing on creating compelling characters and writing realistic dialogue.

By the end of the workshops participants will have a better understanding of how to:

· Create well-rounded, believable characters

· Write authentic, engaging dialogue that advances the story


LOUISE PHILLIPS is a bestselling author of six crime novels, five of which were shortlisted for Best Irish Crime Novel of the Year in the Irish Book Awards. Her novel ‘The Doll’s House’ won the award. She has also been longlisted for the U.K. (CWA) Dagger in the Library Award, and her fifth novel, ‘The Hiding Game’, was optioned by a major U.S. film company. A regular public speaker, panellist and facilitator, Louise has also been a judge on the Irish panel for the EU Literary Award. Her current work-in-progress, ‘Nina’ won the ‘Jack Harte Award’ and also received an Arts Bursary for Literature from the Arts Council of Ireland.
