Looking for a unique and fun way to spend time with friends? Join us for a Clayday and get creative together in the relaxing surroundings of Cavehill! Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, this event is all about having fun, learning new skills, and enjoying each other’s company.
Spend the day getting your hands dirty on the pottery wheel, exploring hand-building techniques like pinch pots and slab building, or creating your own 2D relief or decoration. Our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way in the charming, intimate setting of a converted stable.

Frequently asked questions
Public parking is available at the top of Upper Cavehill Road. The pottery studio is a 2 minute walk up towards the hill. Someone will meet you at top entrance to the Cavehill Country Park, 5 minutes before hand to direct you to the pottery studio.
All materials are supplied including some images and poetry for inspiration, though you are welcome to bring your own images that are personal to you e.g. family photo, favourite landscape, animal or motto.
Aprons are provided but it is best to wear comfy clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting messy in. As the pottery studio is on Cavehill, the area can at times be mucky.
The event is aimed at adults looking for space and time to create. If your child is over 12 years of age and you feel they are mature enough, then they are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the class.
We are working with clay that requires time to dry and to be fired in a kiln , therefore work is generally ready for collection 2-3 weeks after the event. I will let you know during the class what date the work can be collected on.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. We will have a short break around 1pm so you are welcome to bring a packed lunch and alternative drink. Depending on weather you can stay in studio or sit outside in the meadow.
