The Award 1 Hurling Child Coaching course is for Coaches who coach Children between the ages of 5 & 12.
There are 5 * 3 hour sessions to complete the course. Each session will look at a different element of the GAA's coaching framework which is called the "ÓTú Model". Each night will look at 1/2 components of the ÓTú model which are detailed below.
The model is made up "How to Coach Skills Model" and the the 3 T's & 3 P's:
3 T's are Technical Proficiency, Tactical Prowess & Team Play
3 P's are Physical Fitness, Psychological Focus & Playing Facts/Rules
The venue for the course is Tubber GAA
The 5 dates for the course are as follows:
Night 1: Monday 10th Feb 19:00-22:00
Night 2: Monday 17th Feb 19:00-22:00
Night 3: Monday 24th Feb 19:00-22:00
Night 4: Monday 3rd Mar 19:00-22:00
Night 5: Monday 10th Mar19:00-22:00
Each session will have a mix between the theory behind each section of the ÓTú model as well as a practical workshop element.
The course is limited to a maximum number of 24 participants.
