Join us on the 20th of November for an enlightening tour of our research center and gain insights into our pioneering work in the field of cancer research from the previous 5 years led by Professor Roisin Connolly, our Professor Gerald O'Sullivan Chair in Cancer Research enabled through the generous support of Breakthrough Cancer.

Cancer Research @UCC is a translational cancer research centre within the College of Medicine & Health, University College Cork. Our centre is also the academic home of the HRB-supported UCC Cancer Trials Group and the UCC arm of the Blood Cancer Network of Ireland (BCNI).


During the tour, you will have the unique opportunity to:

After the tour, we invite you to join us for refreshments and an opportunity to engage with our researchers. This is a chance to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain a deeper understanding of our projects.

To ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience, we would like to share some key information for your upcoming visit:

  1. Parking Information: The entrance parking barrier at the Western Gate Way building will be open from 4:45, allowing you to park on a first-come, first-served basis (subject to capacity).
  2. Meeting Point: Please convene in room 4.05 on the 4th floor, where you will be grouped with approximately 10 individuals.
  3. Group Assignments and Tour Schedule: You will be grouped with approximately 10 individuals. A tour guide will accompany each group, guiding you through our research stations. The first tour group will commence after the speeches, with new tours starting at intervals.
  4. Tour Duration and Conclusion: The tours will last around 35 minutes, concluding with refreshments and food. Should you need to pause at any point during the tour, please inform your guide, who will provide any necessary support.
  5. Guidelines for Respectful Exploration: Please be respectful of the areas you will be brought to and follow all the instructions provided by your tour guide. Your cooperation ensures a positive experience for everyone.
