About this event

The mesopelagic zone exists at a depth of between 200 and 1000 metres below the ocean surface, occupying 60% of the earth’s surface. The zone contains a wide variety of fish species. However, until recently there has been little focused research activity in this area.

Join us for this high-level, professionally moderated seminar as our panel of Irish and International scientific experts share their knowledge and insights of the mesopelagic zone.

Topics being covered include acoustic survey estimates, modelling mesopelagic fish and their ecosystems, catching, processing and economic considerations.

A panel discussion will conclude the seminar.
